Location of event: near Los Angeles International Airport, California
"At 4:00 PM, I was driving south on Grand View Avenue at the intersection of Venice Blvd, 1 block north of Centinella. I was surprised to see an unknown object that was hovering maybe 1-200,00 feet above the LAX area of the city.
It was rather large - long and wide, kind of like the side of a long and very thick blimp, but dark metallic. I put it in the approximate area of hovering over LAX, which is obviously restricted air space. So no blimp would be in the space.
Plus it hovered, didn't move for awhile. I pulled over and watched it for about 2 minutes. I snapped a pic on my cell, but can't really make out the object."
My Parents reported a similar sighting of the object you described over LAX on May 11th 2011 at 3pm. They watched the object for about 10 minutes from the Marina Del Ray. The object was hovering stationary for several minutes, then moved at a slow speed towards the ocean and stopped hovering over Playa Del Ray. Unfortunately they didn't have a camera with them.
